The American Cancer Society is attacking cancer from every angle.
We promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. We research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. We fight for lifesaving policy changes. We provide everything from emotional support to the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer. And we do it all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The 2022 Discovery Ball Nashville will take place in the fall of 2022. We are excited to announce more details in the New Year. Thank you for your support!
All proceeds from this event will benefit Nashville's American Cancer Society Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge.
Our events would not be possible without the help and support of all of our volunteers – from those that help us in the office to the event team. Our volunteers donate their time and talents in various ways.
The American Cancer Society enlists the help of many volunteers at our gala. Volunteers join us each year for our event which can include event set-up, event hosting, guest registration and auction assistance are examples of the many volunteer roles in place during the evening.
About Hope Lodge
Imagine the prospect of fighting cancer. Now imagine you will be treated at a facility far from your home. The unexpected travel and lodging expenses can place a huge burden on family finances.
Since 2004, the American Cancer Society's Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge in Nashville, Tennessee has offered a solution to cancer patients who must undergo treatment far from home. The Hope Lodge provides housing free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis to cancer patients and a caregiver during their course of treatment. The Lodge not only reduces the financial burden but also provides a much needed supportive environment.
Hope Lodge not only provides patients with a place to stay, but it also offers a supportive and safe environment where patients can focus on wellness. A full crew of American Cancer Society staff and volunteers help create a relaxing and informative environment, providing around the clock "awake" service. In addition, Hope Lodge guests have access to the American Cancer Society’s nationally acclaimed National Cancer Information Center and Web site. These services connect cancer patients and caregivers to information on cancer, local resources, support groups, and patient service programs.
As a guest of the Nashville Discovery Ball, you can feel good knowing that all of the proceeds from this event will go back into supporting the Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge, and providing patients a home away from home.
